Liam Byrnes is a Pre-Law Advisor and current UW Law Student (2L). He attended DePauw University for his undergraduate degree where he studied Music and Political Science. Before attending law school, he completed a Fulbright Grant in Thailand, worked as a server, and clerked at a medical malpractice/personal injury law firm in Chicago. At UW Law, Liam competes in Moot Court, works as a Student Ambassador in the UW Law Admissions Office, serves as a Criminal Law Discussion Group Leader, and volunteers as a Tax Preparer for the IRS’s VITA program. He worked as a non-partisan Election Protection Intern at the ACLU of Wisconsin during the 2024 election cycle and will work at a large law firm in Chicago this summer.

As a Pre-Law Graduate Advisor, Liam is available to meet with any undergraduate student or alumnus of UW-Madison.
